What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name ‘Segway’? You’re probably thinking about the two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter. But what if I told you that they also sell a fantastic electric go-kart as well? That’s right!
In this article, we’re going to talk about the Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart!
Things to consider before buying a Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart
Firstly, let’s talk about why you might want to buy an electric GoKart in the first place. The most obvious reason to do that is that go-karting is loads of fun!
Anyone who has ever spent time at a go-karting track will know how enjoyable it is to zoom around, racing with their friends and family.
Still, typical go-karts use a loud gas motor that’s dangerous and bad for the environment. That’s where the Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart comes in handy!
It’s an all-electric go-kart which means that it doesn’t burn fuel, it’s not loud (except for the cool sound effects it plays!), and it can go as fast as 15 miles an hour!
Since it doesn’t use a gas motor with loads of moving parts, it’s also much safer as well.
This Segway GoKart is perfect for the young and the young-at-heart! If you’re looking to become the next champion at the go-karting track, then this is the product for you.
You’ll definitely be the envy of everyone at the track, and they’ll want to know all about your cool Segway GoKart.
But, if you’re looking for some form of mobility out on the street, then this go-kart might not be a good idea. The state you live in will have strict rules and regulations for making a go-kart street legal.
So, be sure to think about what you intend to use the go-kart for. If you want to use it as a form of transportation, you may be better off buying another Segway product instead.
Ninebot Gokart Kit
The Segway Ninebot Gokart kit is a mishmash of parts that allows riders to quickly assemble and get moving. What completes the go-kart kit is the Segway Ninebot miniPro. The Segway Ninebot miniPro is the back wheel and is a key driver for the go-kart kit.
Depending on the seller, Segway Ninebot Gokart Kit and Ninebot miniPro are either sold separately or together. Here’s the link for a Segway Ninebot Gokart Kit without miniPro.
This is a bit of a bummer for consumers who are looking for a complete go-kart kit without having to worry about making extra purchases.
Ninebot miniPro connects to Segway Ninebot Gokart kit with the help of an miniPro adapter pad. Once the adapter pad is installed onto the miniPro, the segway Ninebot Gokart kit frame is attached to the Minipro.
The connection is fastened by passing straps through the bottom of the miniPRO.
Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart Pros & Cons
To put it simply, the Segway Ninebot GoKart Kit is a ready-to-travel go-kart that you can fit in your trunk. It’s perfect for enthusiasts of all ages who take their go-karting very seriously.
However, it’s not ideal as a mode of transportation or mobility. Still, it comes with its fair share of pros and cons.
Here are the pros:
- Portable, so you can take it anywhere.
- Reversible, unlike conventional go-karts
- Adjustable, to fit your body perfectly
Here are the cons:
- It needs 3.5 hours to fully-charge
- The weight limit for the rider is only 100 kgs.
- Not very powerful when going up a slope
Overview of Key Features
Now, let’s take a closer look at the key features of the Segway Ninebot GoKart Kit.

Easy-To-Transport Size
Firstly, let’s talk about its size and how incredibly compact it can be. At a minimum, this go-kart measures 40x32x18 inches. But once it’s fully extended, it’ll measure about 54x32x24 inches instead.
That’s a huge difference! It just goes to show that this go-kart is incredibly easy to transport. At its minimum size, you could fit it neatly in the trunk of your car or perhaps even the back seat.
Still, once you take it out, it extends to a full-sized go-kart just like any other on the track.
Fully-Adjustable
The Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart kit is also fully-adjustable, unlike some conventional go-karts. Why does that matter? Because that affects both the comfort and the safety of the go-kart.
If you’re in an ill-adjusted go-kart that gets into a collision, you could suffer some serious injuries!
Thankfully, you won’t have anything to worry about when your kids are riding in the Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart Kit! It’ll fit any child ages eight and above comfortably and safely.
Better yet, you could ride in it yourself, too! Just a few adjustments are all it takes to make it fit a full-grown adult comfortably.
Sturdy Body
Another thing to give you peace of mind: the Segway Ninebot GoKart kit is very sturdy. It all starts with its tried and tested sturdy frame.
The manufacturer has put the structure through severe multi-directional and multi-angle collision tests, proving that it can keep the rider safe.
Better yet, the frame can safely hold up to 100 kilograms or 220 pounds in weight.
Once you’re seated in the go-kart, you’ll find that the racing-style seat does an excellent job in keeping you sat no matter what direction you’re driving.
The manufacturer designed the seat covering to keep you from slipping off, especially when making high-speed turns in the go-kart.
The manufacturer even designed the steering wheel with comfort in mind. They coated the steering wheel with a matte finish, so it doesn’t have the stickiness experienced with other materials like rubber, plastic, or PVC.
Of course, a go-kart is often only as good as the tires that keep it on the ground. That’s why the Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart kit uses a non-inflatable hollow tire that is easy to maintain.
These tires provide excellent traction on the ground at all times. Plus, being a non-inflatable hollow tire, you’ll never have to worry about those tires bursting.
All-in-all, this go-kart was built to be rugged. They designed the outer layer to reduce the force of any impacts, while the steel beam that makes the inner layer protects the entire frame.
Braking
One thing that sets this Segway Ninebot gokart kit from other conventional go-karts is the fact that it has a handbrake. That mechanical handbrake, paired with electronic foot brakes, gives the driver high-degree of control over the go-kart.
Making fast turns around sharp corners becomes a lot more manageable and safer thanks to the two different brakes provided by this go-kart. Tap the brake pedal or pull the handbrake
handle and you’ll come to a safe stop.
Better yet, the mechanical handbrake allows you to do lots of drifting on the racetrack! What’s drifting?
It’s a driving technique where the go-kart driver intentionally oversteers and slides (or ‘drifts’) as they go around a corner. Even if that’s not your thing, you should know that your kids will be able to do it in this go-kart!
Three Driving Modes
Also, this go-kart has three separate driving modes. You can choose from the Novice, Standard, or Sport modes. That’ll depend on your driving expertise as well as your mood for the day!
The Novice mode is excellent for kids and new drivers. It’ll cap the top speed of the go-kart at just five mph. Slow, steady, and safe!
The Standard mode allows you to go at twice that speed, roughly 10.8 mph instead. While this is faster than the previous driving mode, it’s still a comfortable speed for most go-kart drivers.
Lastly, you have the Sport mode, which unleashes more of the Segway gokart‘s power! With this driving mode, you can go up to 15 mph. This mode is perfect for racing conditions where you’re trying to beat your competitors!
Of course, each driving mode affects battery life differently. The faster your maximum speed, the less time you have before you need to recharge.
Performance

The Segway GoKart Kit certainly looks great and is built sturdy, but how well does it perform?
How Fast Does The Ninebot Go Kart Go?
This go-kart has a top speed of 15 mph. As mentioned before, you could cap those speeds according to the driving mode that you choose to use.
The Novice mode will cap it at just five mph to keep things slow and safe. The Standard mode will double that speed and cap it at 10.8 mph instead.
Lastly, the Sport mode will unleash the go-kart’s full potential at 15 mph.
Maximum Range
At its maximum, the Segway Ninebot GoKart kit can go as far as 9 miles on a single charge. Of course, the maximum distance is affected by the weight of the driver and the driving mode selected.
For instance, choosing the Novice driving mode will allow the go-kart to go much further to about 12.4 miles. Using the Sport mode drains the battery faster, cutting down on the maximum distance to about 8 miles.
Powerful Battery
The Segway Ninebot GoKart kit uses a 54.3v battery with 310Wh and 5400Ah. On a full charge, the battery can take you as far as 12.4 miles. Recharge the battery fully after use will take about 3.5 hours.
How Do You Charge A Ninebot Go Kart?
As we mentioned earlier in the review Ninebot Go Kart back wheel drive is powered by a Segway miniPRO. So users will be powering the Segway Ninebot Gokart kit with the help of a miniPRO. The charging Ninebot Gokart kit is a simple port-to-port connection in the back of the miniPro.
Segway Ninebot Gokart kit comes with its own power extension cord. Once the miniPro is fully charged. One of the first steps is to plug the power extension cord into the charging port of the miniPRO, tighten it by turning clockwise.
Then plug the electrical connection cable of the Gokart into the power extension cord. This port-to-port connection will supply the Segway Ninebot Gokart kit with enough power to move forward.
Obviously, follow proper safety precautions like not connect the charger if the charge
port or power cable is wet.
It’s typically a good idea to allow the Segway Ninebot gokart kit an opportunity to cool off before charging.
How much does a Ninebot cost?
The Segway Ninebot Gokart Kit pricing can vary across the web. As some sellers can offer either a complete bundle of the Ninebot Gokart kit with miniPro or not.
A Segway Ninebot Gokart without Segway miniPro can cost $600 – $800. The complete Segway Go Kart Kit can cost anywhere between 1,000 -1,300.
Websites like Amazon and other online e-tailer’s prices can vary so be mindful of this as you shop for a Segway Gokart.
Alternative Electric GoKarts You Should Consider
The Ninebot Electric GoKart kit is a fantastic option for you and your kids. Still, there are some other excellent electric go-karts on the market today that are also worth considering.
One alternative worth checking out is the Razor Ground Force Electric Go-Kart. This go-kart can go up to 12 mph using a variable-speed thumb-trigger acceleration control, with a battery that lasts up to 40 minutes.
Then there’s also the First Drive Electric Go Kart that uses dual rear motors and comes with an adjustable seat belt for safe use.
Final Thoughts
All-in-all, the Ninebot Electric GoKart kit is more than just an entry-level scooter. Firstly, it’s fast; there’s no question about it.
But more important than that, they built this go-kart using excellent materials that make it sturdy. That’s key, as it’ll keep you or your child safe while having fun for hours on end. Would recommend it for anyone not just kids as the Ninebot go-kart kit is best for riders between 4′ 5″ to 6′ 3″.
